Cynthia I. Noel was born and raised in St.
John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Here, her love of drawing and painting
flourished very early in life. Cynthia's style is greatly influenced
by impressionists such as Monet, Degas, Van Gogh and Cassatt.
She traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe and has
also called Moncton, NB and Toronto, ON her homes. However, as an east
coast native, her work reflects a love of the Atlantic Ocean, tiny
fishing villages, colourful streetscapes. Cynthia's open edition
reproductions carry the "Crafts of Character" symbol which
recognizes quality crafts, gifts and apparel made in Newfoundland and
Labrador.
Cynthia's paintings have been purchased for High Commissioners,
Ambassadors (India, Norway, Finland, China), Presidents of large
corporations (Fortis, Proctor & Gamble, Petro Canada) and by the
Government of Newfoundland and Labrador through the art procurement
program. Her paintings are worldwide (Canada, U.S.A., Australia,
Japan, England, South America, to name a few).
Cynthia was employed in the graphic arts industry most of her working
life and now enjoys painting full time. She can also be commissioned
for portraits of houses or antique cars.
