Newfoundland Art - Carla Crawford

Carla Crawford is a Newfoundland artist who resides with her husband Terence and son Ryan in Foxtrap, Conception Bay South. Her daughter Skye is currently living in St. John's. Carla is presently a member of the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Visual Artists of Newfoundland and Labrador (VANL). She received her formal training in Toronto where she studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design for four years. During the past several years, Carla has acquired numerous awards for her drawings and portraits, including honourable mentions from the Newfoundland and Labrador Art's Competition. Carla was a finalist in the Artist's Magazine Drawing Competition for Canada and the United States.

Although she has done work in watercolour, prismacolour, and oils, she works primarily in acrylics. Her paintings and drawings have been sold throughout North America and parts of Europe. Her work has been shown in various art galleries in the province. Carla's pieces have been purchased by both private collectors and the Provincial Government. Her original art is presently on display at the Spurrell Gallery in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

Carla has an interest in various crafts, including knitting, sewing, crochet, needlework, quilting and rock painting. Her painted rocks are currently for sale at Devon House in St. John's.
